Topic:  Compaq TC1000 - Purchasing Question

First off, I want to thank everyone in this discussion board for all the information and help. The TabletPCHome.com community has been one of the several places I've bookmarked as I plan to purchase the TC1000 soon.

I did have one question though. I was wondering where people have bought their TC1000? I know finding a tablet at a retail store is rare so I think I plan on buying one online. I was wondering which places offer a good service and warranty plans.

Thanks in advance!

My suggestion would be direct from Compaq. I know here in australia its near impossible to find any place that sells them and so far the best price deal i have got was online from Compaq.

PCMall.com offers excellent pricing and I have purchased 4 through them so far. I've worked w/them for the last 3 years and have always gotten excellent customer service, quick delivery, and speedy responses to questions.

I did see what at the local mall yesterday but did not stop in to check the pricing. I don't even recall what store it was...it was one of the specialty stores like Sharper Image.

I purchased mine from HP's refurbished business products store. They have a special through July 31 which includes a free refurbished docking station. I think the prices can't be beat if you don't mind buying refurbished. Also, I got an additional 1 year warranty for $49. Good luck with your purchase.

If you have a Franklin/Covey store in your area, they carry Compaqs and Acers. I tried them both out there.

Good morning,

I am with a company in Austin, TX by the name of Computerresale.com. We are a wholesale distributor of tier 1 computer equipment. I currently have 45 Compaq TC1000 tablet PCs in stock. They are all new in the box with 3 years remaining on the manufacturers warranty. They have 1Ghz processors, 256Mb memory, 30Gb hard drives, wireless modem/nic and Windows XP Tablet Edition media. I wanted to see if you would be interested in these notebooks. If so, please reply to me via phone or email.

Thank you,

I found that if you pretend to be a retailer some places on line will sell wholesale to you. I always try to buy expesive items like laptop computers from a wholesaler you can find some good listings of wholesale suppliers at Wholesale Directory

There are sites that are claiming to be genuine wholesalers. But are they really are?? Most of the site now a days online are affiliate sites. You can find some good article about how to find real wholesalers and dropshippers at wholesalers123.tripod.com . Any way from my experience, it is really hard to find good wholesalers in computer parts as IT hardware market is the most fluctuating on in price. No one dare to buy anything in bulk as every day the price goes down.
