I recently bought a refurbished Acer Travelmate C110.

For some reason when I plug the Dvd drive in when the system is off it won't boot.

If I plug the Dvd in when the system is on it won't read.

The only controller I have for firewire is a 1394 host controller. But I also have a listing in the Device Manager for a 1394 Net Adapter.

I was reading around and the problem could have come from someone installing Daemon Tools at a previous time.

I have found instances of this in the registry and removed them all. But no luck getting the Dvd drive to work.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so what's the fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
