Love to know more and where one can get support Jim

Hey, I worked on the interface for the web tablet back in 2001. I left intel and have since lost my screenshots - I would be willing to paypal you some cash if you could take some screenshots of the main application and a few quality shots of the tablet. I'd love to have them for my portfolio. thanks

The Web Tablet is/was designed to work with Intel's AnyPoint Network. The unit I received came in what appears to be retail packaging with the manuals, connection software, and manuals. If you need a copy of the connection/setup software, email me and maybe I can mail a copy of the cd or send it electronically. The range of the unit is supposed to be 150 feet, more like 75-100 feet. Some web sites won't work right with the built in browser. Also the Host computer needs to have an active network connection for the Tablet to access the internet. Tested it with dial-up and DSL. Supposedly multiple tablets can share the same connection. It is able to play mp3's and real audio content. Internal browser is based on Espial Escape, other software is from Wind River.

I've also got a retail box with all the bits.including the update for XP. Given that they never officially sold these, does anybody know how many retail boxes were manufactured?

I have a web tablet, but no software -- the cd in the box found its way to the back and when I closed the box it broke the cd in half. I would be really happy if someone could send the software to me by email. If it is too big I could provide an email that accepts larger attachments than Yahoo. Thank you in advance for your help. Without the software I am pretty much dead in the water.

would it work with my d-link g604t wireless router or does it need to be the intel netowrk thingy?
Thanks,

Intel Web Tablet news articles and pictures...http://www.smecc.org/intel_webpad.htm

I am also looking for any support or updates.  Only thing it's good for now is show pictures and listen to music file.  Not many websites it can browse unless there's some way to update the software.

haven't checked on this forum in awhile. i see that some of you actually have web tablets out there.

i would be willing to pay $50 for some screenshots of the application, i worked on the interface back in 2001 but no longer have the screens for my portfolio.

please email me at: sleepyrice2007.

it might only take you a few min and would mean the world to me.

thanks!
